There is a delay, which should not be misconstrued a declination. But rather, a Bond is a rather tricky thing for Sephiroth. He's a man of deep privacy and having to adjust to the necessity of sharing emotions, and sometimes memories, is not always welcome. In fact, if it was not absolutely critical to do so, he might not have formed any at all.

But that's the crux of the issue, isn't it? It is critical, and even those otherwise adverse to such... closeness know that it'd be foolish to ignore forging one. No doubt it's the reason why Urianger has gone so long without one, too, only to text him out of the blue with this request.

I'm not fond of the necessity of these Bonds, but I understand their importance. I can act as your Bondmate until you find someone more suited for the role.

No troublesome history have I, or hidden outbursts which I could imagine causing difficulty. I am and have been but a scholar at heart, reticent and, I have oft been informed, entirely too serious-minded. I can think of no reason such should prove problematic for a Bondmate, from the knowledge I have been able to gather without firsthand experience.

[Urianger does have his own bottled-up trauma, but as long as the moons stay where they're supposed to be and the sky doesn't catch fire, the rest of it will surely stay bottled up. It's fine.]

Sooner would be far preferable to later, though my circumstances are not yet truly dire. Very little of my time is scheduled at the moment, therefore I shall be glad to accommodate thy convenience.
